Industrial, residential, or commercial?
Hey everyone, I’m a 1st year apprentice and wanted to get some advice. I’m trying to figure out which route—industrial, residential, or commercial—is the best in terms of pay, benefits, and opportunities for growth. Eventually, I’d love to have my own business, so any insights or advice would be super helpful! What path worked for you?
When looking into starting a Business be considerate of the clients you will be working with. I am more focused on the Industrial/Commercial side: Starting a business and getting clients in those fields will always be much more difficult. In the Residential field you will always be able to start your own business and you will ALWAYS be busy. There are never enough electricians in most states to get to all the work.
The biggest thing is to always to have strong customer service as well as being straight forward and honest. Do not over charge. Be fair always. Preform work to the highest quality possible.
Got it, thank you. That makes sense for sure. Why do you think it'll be more difficult? Marketing or just dealing with the stress of clients?
Finding ways into the big money projects are always difficult. Having friends in High places is always imperative 😉
